This is a series of videos that highlight the ‘Place-Concsious Learning’ happening with Kootenay Lake School District. From K-12, these students are planting gardens, clearing trails and climbing rock faces as part of their student experience.
One of the four videos showcases the amazing work the Grade 7-12 ‘Outdoor Academies.’ Hear from Graeme Marshall, Lead Teacher of ATLAS, and others around the district who know the power of getting beyond the four walls of a classroom to expand the horizons of hundreds of our local youth. We’ve been to Whitewater in the Winter, Pulpit in the Spring and downtown in the alleys of Nelson in the summer for the production of ‘Voices of Nelson.’ A collaboration with Touchstones Nelson, this interactive project seeks to create a living history of Nelson, documenting who lives here today and why, exploring our identity as a city and where people think we are headed into the future as it connects to the past.
The final video will be released soon. Watershed Productions was pleased to have Lynn Trinh on the creative team with additional camera support from Laura Grant.
